The cedar grain texture is embossed into the boards providing better continuity of definition making the depth of the grain more visible. SmartSide products are manufactured using the borate-based SmartGuard process to resist termites and fungal decay. In addition, a resin saturated paint base overlay is fused to the engineered substrate, resulting in a surface that is easy to paint.
